A "glamorous," "efficient"
crew works "new" cabins
for passengers who arrive "on time"
with Germany's largest carrier.
And while some call the Frankfurt hub
"Fra-pit," most say,
"the next time I have to fly internationally, I will check with Lufthansa first."

On our flight from(MUC)FRA to YVR on Jan 05-05 the LH 340 was an ex-Sabena with a rather strange "lay-out" that even some LH staff found odd ! Furthermore the seatback-tables were very plain & at odd angles in the upright position of the front-seat!
FRA-PORT will for ever be called FRA-PITT by me, as it is the lousiest
airport we have seen so far!!! It has the ambience of an old Hospital,
with very few seating areas, some of them even off-limits to pax! The smell of cigarette smoke is prevalent as folks in D seem to indulge in this habit just about averywhere ! MUC is not perfect but by far superior to 'frapitt'. YVR also is in great need to upgrade, as their capacity to 'process' incoming pax seems to be rather limited! We had to 'participate in a lengthy conga-line' setup before we even saw cutoms, & there were no luggage carts for hand-luggage... CUSTOMER-SERVICE seems to be not a priority in some airports as we've seen!

I flew Lufthansa round trip between San Francisco and Barcelona, Spain during the first half of February 2005.
Lufthansa was great. Each of the four legs was on time -- or trivially late -- meeting my first, and most important criteria for a good airline.
I paid a terrific $544 for the whole trip, out of season, including taxes.
The flight crew was extremely efficient, accomodating, and glamorous, even.
The food was fine. The condition of the interior cabin was extremely good -- everything seemed new.
I changed planes in Munich both ways.
At the Lufthansa gates in Munich, the airline provided several free newspapers, in both English and German.
The next time I have to fly internationally, I will check with Lufthansa first.
